1. IDFC MD Vikram Limaye the new CEO, MD of NSE

•Leading stock exchange National Stock Exchange on Friday selected IDFC chief Vikram Limaye as its new CEO and Managing Director, two months after the sudden exit of Chitra Ramkrishna from the top post.








2. Tirath appointed BJP national secretary
•Former Uttarakhand BJP chief Tirath Singh Rawat was today appointed as the partys national secretary






3. Railway Ministry, FS group sign MOU for technical cooperation
•The railway ministry and Italy's Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane Group (FS group) have signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for technical cooperation in rail sector especially in the area of safety and modernisation.
The FS group that manages majority of rail operations in Italy.
The cooperation areas identified in the MoU includes safety audit of Indian Railways and measures required for enhancing safety in train operation, assessment and certification of advanced.

4. NASA's Juno spacecraft to make its fourth flyby over Jupiter

•NASA, Juno skimmed about 2,670 miles (4,300 kilometers) above Jupiter's cloud tops at 7:57 a.m. EST (1257 GMT) on Tursday morning (February 2), zooming by at 129,000 mph (208,000 km/h) relative to the giant planet.
•During the flyby, all of Juno’s eight science instruments and the spacecraft's JunoCam were on to collect data that is now being returned to Earth.
•Juno is currently in a 53-day orbit, and its next close flyby of Jupiter will occur on March 27, 2017.
•During its flybys, Juno is probing beneath the obscuring cloud cover of Jupiter and studying the gas giant's auroras to learn more about the planet's origins, structure, atmosphere and magnetosphere.
•Launched on August 5, 2011, from Cape Canaveral, Florida, Juno arrived at Jupiter on July 4, 2016.
• During its mission of exploration, Juno soars low over the planet's cloud tops - as close as about 2,600 miles (4,100 kilometers).

5. HDFC Bank increases cash transaction fees on savings a/cs

•HDFC Bank has decided to steeply increase the fees for savings account holders on a slew of activities involving cash.
•Capping cash component in others and also introducing charges on certain transactions from March 1
•The city-headquartered bank has capped the third-party transactions at Rs 25,000 a day, reduced the number of free cash transactions at branches to four from five earlier and also raised the fee for non-free transactions by a steep 50 per cent to Rs 150

6. Pankaj Advani pockets the National Snooker Championship title

•Champion cueist Pankaj Advani won the Indian National Snooker Championship with a 6-0 win over Pandurangaiah of Railways in a one-sided final
•Apart from clinching his 29th national title overall, Advani broke several other records.
•He became the only Indian men’s cueist to be the holder of all national billiards and snooker titles at the same time – Billiards, 6-red Snooker and 15-red Snooker.
