1)  Ministry of Petroleum Launches Saksham 2018 Campaign
•Saksham (Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav) is an annual flagship event of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India.

•The event focuses on the active involvement of the Oil & Gas PSUs along with other stakeholders like State Governments, for creating focused attention on fuel conservation through people-centric activities. The month-long campaign aims to intensify efforts for making citizens aware of the conservation and effective utilization of petroleum products.

2)  IWDRI-2018 Concluded Successfully in New Delhi
•The two-day International Workshop on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (IWDRI) successfully concluded in New Delhi. It had set the stage for taking the dialogue on resilient infrastructure forward at the global level.

•The Workshop was organised by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) jointly with United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR). MoS (Home) Shri Kiren Rijiju delivered the Valedictory Address. The workshop was inaugurated by the Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh.

3)  Israeli PM Netanyahu Inaugurate 3rd edition of Geo-Political Conference Raisina Dialogue
•Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu inaugurated the 3rd edition of the geo-political conference, 'Raisina Dialogue'. PM Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj attended the inaugural session of the three-day event.

•This year's topic of Raisina Dialogue is 'Managing Disruptive Transitions - Ideas, Institutions and Idioms.' This is the first time when any foreign head of state has participated in this dialogue. The three-day conference will brainstorm on several challenges and various strategic issues including that of cybersecurity.

4)  BBIN Pact: India, Bangladesh, Nepal Okays Vehicle Movement Procedure
•Bangladesh, India and Nepal have given nod to operating procedures for movement of passenger vehicles in the sub-region under Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal (BBIN) motor vehicles agreement.

•For seamless flow of passenger and cargo traffic in the region, BBIN motor vehicles agreement (MVA) was signed by the transport ministers of the BBIN countries in Thimphu, Bhutan in June 2015.

5)  65th Meeting of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) Held in New Delhi
•The 65th meeting of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) was held under the chairmanship of Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar. The meeting' agenda was focused on issues related to school education and literacy.

•At the meeting the National Assessment Survey (NAS) District-wise report card was released. The meeting was attended by Education Ministers of 20 States, representatives of 28 States and Union Territories.

6)  India, Sri Lanka Sign 4 Agreements for Collaboration in ICT Sector
•India and Sri Lanka signed four agreements for collaboration in the Information and communication technology (ICT) sector, setting up of an e-office system and connecting of National Knowledge Network (NKN) for collaboration among universities and academics.

•With the move, Sri Lanka has become the first country to be connected to India’s NKN through a Gigabyte optical fibre network. The MoU for cooperation was signed by Union minister for Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad with his Sri Lankan counterpart, during his visit to Colombo.
