1) Statehood Day Of Goa: 30 May
•Goa celebrates its Statehood Day as people’s demand for full statehood was attained on 30th May 1987, when Goa became India’s 25th state. Daman and Diu were separated from Goa and continue to be administered as a union territory.

•Earlier, Goa was a union territory, namely, Goa, Daman and Diu for all administrative and governance considerations. Attaining statehood opened several windows of development for the state. 

2) PM Modi 3-Nation Visit: India & Indonesia Sign 15 MoUs
•On the first leg of 3-Nation visit, PM Modi has visited Indonesia. India and Indonesia signed 15 MoUs in the fields of defence, scientific and technological cooperation, railways and health, among others.

•PM Modi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo in a joint statement also agreed to develop further cooperation in maritime sector for "immense stability" in the region.

3) Ministry Of Women And Child Development Signs MoU With UP
•The Ministry of Women and Child and Development, Government of India has signed an MoU with Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in New Delhi for management of Home of Widows at Sunrakh Bangar, Vrindavan.

•The Ministry of Women and Child Development has constructed this shelter home for widows with a capacity of 1000 inmates. The MoU shall be in force for a period of 2 years which may be renewed for further period on the satisfactory running of the Home.

4) Gujarat Government Launches 'Reuse Of Treated Waste Water Policy'
•The Ministry of Women and Child and Development, Government of India has signed an MoU with Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in New Delhi for management of Home of Widows at Sunrakh Bangar, Vrindavan.

•The Ministry of Women and Child Development has constructed this shelter home for widows with a capacity of 1000 inmates. The MoU shall be in force for a period of 2 years which may be renewed for further period on the satisfactory running of the Home.

6) Paraguay Gets Its 1st Woman Interim President
•Paraguay gets first interim woman President Alicia Pucheta for the first time in its history after outgoing leader Horacio Cartes stepped down ahead of schedule. Vice President Alicia Pucheta will complete Cartes’s mandate after he resigned to become a senator.

•Paraguay has just eight women among its 45 senators, and 11 among the 80 members of the lower house. Paraguay remains 135th out of 180 countries on the 2017 corruption index of Transparency International.

7) Virat Kohli Emerged As International Cricketer Of Year: CEAT Ratings
•Indian skipper Virat Kohli has emerged as the International Cricketer of the Year at the CEAT Cricket Ratings awards, which were presented in Mumbai. Batsman Rohit Sharma collected the award on behalf of Kohli.
Other CEAT Cricket Ratings awards Presented are:

1. International Batsman of the Year Award: Shikhar Dhawan (India).
2. International Bowler of the Year Award: Trent Boult (New Zealand).
3. T20 Bowler of the Year Award: Rashid Khan (Afghanistan).
4. Outstanding Innings of the Year Award: Harmanpreet Kaur (India). 
5. Lifetime Achievement Award: Farokh Engineer (India).
6. T20 Batsman of the Year Award: Colin Munro (New Zealand).
7. Domestic Player of the Year Award: Mayank Agarwal (India).
8. U19 Player of the Year award: Shubman Gill (India).
9. Popular Choice Award: Chris Gayle (West Indies).

1) International Day Of UN Peacekeepers: 29 May
•The International Day of UN Peacekeepers is observed across the world on May 29, with an aim to honour more than 3700 peacekeepers who have lost their lives while serving the United Nations since 1948, including 129 who died in 2017.

•The theme of the International Day of UN Peacekeepers 2018 is ‘UN Peacekeepers: 70 Years of Service and Sacrifice’. The first UN peacekeeping mission was established on 29 May 1948. The day was first celebrated in 2003.

2) Main Event Of 4th International Yoga Day Celebrations To Be Held At Dehradun
•The main event of 4th International Yoga Day celebrations will be held at Dehradun in Uttrakhand on 21st of June.

•Secretary AYUSH Ministry Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha has announced that Dehradun has been selected as the venue for Mass Yoga Demonstration of International Yoga Day. Mr Kotecha is in Dehradun to initiate the preparations regarding this mega event. 

3) NIC Launches India's 4th Data Centre In Bhubaneswar
•Bhubaneswar (capital city of Odisha) becomes the fourth National data centre of National Informatics Centre (NIC) after Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune. The new cloud-enabled National Data Centre aims to offer round-the-clock operations with secure hosting for various e-governance applications of Central and State Governments and has the ability to support 35,000 virtual servers.

•NIC provides technology support to all governance services and hosts nearly 10,000 websites of the Government. NIC currently has 4,500 people across India in its various operations and will hire 800 professionals in the next one year.

4) PM Leaves On 3-Nation Tour To Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore
•Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a three-nation visit to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.During his five-day visit, the PM will hold delegation level talks with the leadership of the three countries, on matters of mutual interest.

•This will be Prime Minister’s first official visit to Indonesia and second official visit to Singapore. The visit assumes significance in the light of India’s thrust on “Act East” policy under which New Delhi desires to enhance bilateral relationship with the 10-member ASEAN grouping. In the first leg of his visit, Mr Modi will arrive in Indonesia.

5) Cochin International Airport, World’s 1st Fully Solar Energy-Powered Airport: UNEP
•The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has recognised Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) in Kerala as the world’s first fully solar energy-powered airport. CIAL is India’s first airport to be constructed in public-private-partnership (PPP) model in 1999.

•It is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Kerala. The airport has 15 MWp solar power plant near the cargo complex of airport comprising 46,150 solar panels laid across 45 acres.
