1) 13th India-Japan Summit Held In Tokyo
•The 13th Annual Summit between India and Japan was held in presence of PM Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in Tokyo, Japan. Issues of mutual interest, including forging ties in newer areas were discussed during the talks.  

•The areas include health, digital technologies, agriculture and food processing and disaster risk reduction. The two sides also reviewed the existing defence and security ties besides the ongoing infrastructure projects in India with Japanese involvement. 

2) EAM Sushma Swaraj In Qatar On 1st Leg Of Her 2-Nation Visit
•External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj reached Doha, Qatar on the first leg of her 2-nation visit to West Asia. During her stay, Ms Swaraj will call on Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and will hold delegation level talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. 

•On the second leg of her visit, Ms Swaraj will travel to Kuwait on where she will meet Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and other dignitaries.

3) Gujarat’s First Mega Food Park Inaugurated In Surat
•Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurated the first Mega Food Park in Gujarat. It is located at Village Shah and Vasravi, Taluka Mangrol, District Surat. A 2nd Mega Food Park has been sanctioned by the Ministry in Mehsana District of Gujarat.

•This Mega Food Park has been set up in 70.15 acres of land at a cost of Rs. 117.87 crore. The Mega Food Park will leverage an additional investment of about Rs. 250 crores in 25-30 food processing units in the park. 

4) Vigilance Awareness Week Observed To Achieve Corruption Free Society
•The Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed across the country from 29th October to 3 November to promote probity in public life and achieve a corruption-free society. The theme of the week this year is, ‘Eradicate Corruption – Build A New India’. 

•The observance of the week will commence with pledge taking by public servants in the Ministries, Departments, PSUs, Banks and all other Organisations. During the week, several functions will be organized to create awareness against corrupt practices. 

5) Arunachal Pradesh, British Council Sign MoU For Cultural, Educational Cooperation
•The state government of Arunachal Pradesh signed an MoU with the British Council to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation, in order to support the knowledge ambitions and economic growth of the state. 

•The agreement aims to enhance the opportunities for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh and connect them to international expertise and ideas. It was signed by Tayek Talom, Director of Higher and Technical Education of Arunachal Pradesh and Alan Gemmell, Director of British Council India, on the sidelines of the Tawang Festival. 

6) Michael D Higgins Re-Elected As The President Of Ireland
•Michael D Higgins has been re-elected as the President of Ireland after receiving 56 percent of the country’s votes in the elections. Businessman Peter Casey came second with 23.1 per cent votes. 

•Mr. Higgins, who has served as the country’s head of state since 2011, will now keep the top job for another seven years. Mr. Higgins is the first incumbent in 50 years to face a challenge in the bid for a second term. 

7) Jair Bolsonaro Wins Presidential Election In Brazil
•Far-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro has won a sweeping victory in Brazil's presidential election. Mr.  Bolsonaro won 55.2% of the votes cast against 44.8% for Fernando Haddad from the left-wing Workers' Party.

•Mr. Bolsonaro campaigned on a promise to eradicate corruption and to drive down Brazil's high crime levels. His campaign slogan was "Brazil above everything, God above everyone".

8) India Donated 3 Lakh Dollars For Peacekeeping Initiative At UN
•India has donated three lakh Dollars for a peacekeeping initiative at the UN.  The UN Department of Field Support announced that the Indian government donated the amount for the ‘Pipeline to Peacekeeping Command Programme’ with a specific focus on issues of conduct and discipline over a period of three years. 

9) RBI To Inject Rs 40,000 Crore In November Via OMO
•The Reserve Bank of India has announced that it will inject Rs 40,000 crore into the system in Novemberthrough the purchase of government securities as it looks to meet festive season demand for funds. The central bank had already injected Rs 36,000 crore into the system in October through open market operation (OMO). 

10) Clara Sosa Won Miss Grand International 2018 In Myanmar
•Miss Paraguay Clara Sosa won the Miss Grand International 2018 title at the 6th edition of the beauty pageant in Yangon, Myanmar.  Clara Sosa succeeds Miss Grand International 2017 Maria Jose Lora of Peru. India’s, FBB Colors Femina Miss Grand India 2018 Meenakshi Chaudhary was named 1st runner-up.

11) Indian Golfer Khalin Joshi Clinches Panasonic Open India Title
•Indian golfer Khalin Joshi clinched the Panasonic Open India title at the Delhi Golf Club. With this win, Joshi became the seventh Indian to win the Panasonic Open India title in the last eight editions of the tournament. 

•It was also his maiden Asian Tour title. Overnight joint leader Joshi carded four under 68 on the final day to win the title by one stroke with a four day aggregate of 17-under. Bangladesh’s Siddikur Rahman finished second best after finishing with a par on the 18th. 

12) Roger Federer Won 99th Career Title In His Hometown
•Swiss tennis star Roger Federer won his 99th career title after winning the Basel Open for the ninth time in his career. Federer, who was born in the Swiss city of Basel, won his fourth title of the year in the form of the Basel Open. Federer is now just 10 titles short of the all-time record holder Jimmy Connors, who leads with 109.
