1) 5th National Summit On Public Health Care Begins In Assam
•The 5th National Summit on Good and Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Health Care Systems in India has begun at Kaziranga in Assam. State Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal and Union Health Minister J P Nadda inaugurated the three-day summit.

2) Foundation Of India’s Largest Dry Dock Laid At Cochin Shipyard
•The Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan laid the foundation for India’s largest Dry Dock at Cochin Shipyard in Kerala.  

•The Dry Dock will give an impetus to “Make in India” initiative under Sagarmala and raise India’s share in global shipbuilding to 2%. India currently occupies 0.66 % share in global shipbuilding market. The commercial shipbuilding industry in India is worth Rs. 3,200 Crore and focuses primarily on small-medium sized offshore vessels and cargo/bulk carriers. 

3) 3-Day India Mobile Congress Held In New Delhi
•India Mobile Congress is one of the biggest marquee Mobile, Internet, and Technology event for South-East Asia organized by COAI and DoT. IMC 2018 was held in Aerocity, New Delhi. The congress was held under the theme of NEW DIGITAL HORIZONS.

•The congress aims at building ideas, forging lasting Industry relationships, showcasing cutting-edge mobile technology & product trends, providing sectoral insights, industrial solutions, case studies & workshops. 

4) Italian PM Giuseppe Conte In India On A Day Long Visit
•Prime Minister of Italy, Giuseppe Conte arrived in New Delhi on a day-long official visit to India. During the visit, the Italian Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

•Both leaders will also attend the India-Italy Technology Summit which is being organised by the Department of Science and Technology in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). 

5) World's Largest Airport 'Under One Roof' Opened In Istanbul
•The world's largest airport terminal "under one roof" with a capacity to serve 90 million passengers has been officially opened on October 29 in Istanbul, which marks the Republic Day of Turkey. 

•Overall the first phase has cost 7.5 billion Euro.  The airport has been envisioned to have a total capacity of up to 200 million passengers, once all four phases are completed in the next 10 years.

6) SBI, Hitachi Payments Form Joint Venture For Digital Payment Platform
•Country's largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) and payments solution provider Hitachi Payment Services India has entered into an agreement to form a joint venture for establishing a card acceptance and digital payment platform.

•SBI will have a majority stake in the proposed joint venture. Hitachi Payment Services India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Group, Japan.

7) IBM Acquired Red Hat For $34 Billion In Its Biggest Purchase
•America's IBM has acquired software company Red Hat in a $34 billion cash and debt deal, marking its biggest ever acquisition till date. Founded 25 years ago, Red Hat was valued at about $20.5 billion at the end of trading.

•The open source, enterprise software maker will become a unit of IBM's Hybrid Cloud division, with Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst joining IBM's senior management team and reporting to CEO Ginni Rometty.

8) WhatsApp And CII Collaborate To Train SMEs, Entrepreneurs In India
•WhatsApp has partnered with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to train small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs on using the messaging platform to connect with customers and growing their businesses.

•WhatsApp and CII will work to enhance business communication for Indian SMEs through CII's SME Technology Facilitation Centre. They will also develop informative content to be distributed among entrepreneurs both in physical and digital formats.
