Railway JE Recruitment 2018 : Check Detailed Notification and Apply Online

Railway Recruitment 2018: 13,487 Vacancies

Finally the Detailed Notification of Railway JE has released today. Railway Recruitment Board has already released the recruitment notification in the employment newspaper for the posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant. Candidates who are waiting for results of prescribed Educational Qualification are not eligible and hence should not apply for these posts.





RRB JE Recruitment 2018: Dates

Start Date to Apply Online: 2nd January 2019 (From 10:00 AM)
Last Date for registration of Online Application: 31st January 2019 (23: 59 hrs.)
Closing Date & Time for payment of Application Fee:

  • Junior Engineer: 12844
  • Junior Engineer (Information Technology): 29
  • Depot Material Superintendent: 227
  • Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant: 387
 Pay Scale:
Level 6th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs.35,400/- plus other allowances as admissible.
 Educational Qualification:
Junior Engineer: Diploma/Degree in Engineering in relevant discipline.

Junior Engineer (Information Technology): 
PGDCA/B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ BCA / B.Tech. (Information Technology)/ B.Tech. (Computer Science)/ DOEACC 'B' Level Course of 3 years duration or equivalent from recognised university/ institute.

Depot Material Superintendent: 
Diploma/Degree in Engineering from any discipline.

Some important points for Educational Qualification
Candidates with educational qualification of BE/B.Tech (Computer Science) or BE/B.Tech (Information Technology), applying for both the posts of JE(S&T Department) and JE (IT), have to opt for either Electronics and Allied Engineering Exam Group or Computer Science and Information Technology Exam Group.

Candidates with educational qualifications not figuring in the chart and eligible for DMS posts have to choose any one of the listed Exam Groups other than CMA Exam Group, during the registration for online applications of this CEN.

A candidate possessing more than one minimum educational qualification, mapped to different Exam Groups, can choose any one Exam Group. These candidates would be eligible for all the posts for which they possess minimum educational  qualifications. 

Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant: Bachelors Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with minimum 45% marks
 Age Limit:
  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 33 years
Age Limit as on 01st January 2019 
 Application Fees:
  • UR & OBC: Rs. 500/-
  • Out of this fee of Rs.500/-, an amount of Rs.400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in First Stage CBT.
  • SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class : Rs. 250/-
  • This fee of Rs.250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in First Stage CBT.
 Selection process:

There shall be four stages examination for these posts:

  1. First Stage CBT
  2. Second Stage CBT
  3. Document Verification
  4. Medical Examination

There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in CBTs. 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Technical Abilities-> The educational qualifications mentioned against each post shown in Annexure-A, have been grouped into different exam  groups as below. Questions on the Technical abilities will be framed in the syllabus defined for various Exam Groups.



Note: Whenever CBT is conducted in multiple sessions for the same syllabus, the raw marks obtained by the candidates in different  sessions will be converted to normalized marks.
