Postpone UPSC Civil Services 2020 Prelims: SC Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava writes to UPSC

Will UPSC Prelims 2020 be postponed again? With many aspirants asking 
for the exams to be further delayed, Supreme Court Advocate, 
Mr. Alakh Alok Srivastava has written to UPSC Chairman, requesting postponement


Union Public Service Commission, UPSC Civil Services 2020 prelims is scheduled for October 4, 2020. Following the increase in the number of COVID19 cases in the country, Supreme Court Advocate, Alakh Alok Srivastava has written to Chairman, UPSC, urging him to postpone the October exam date.

In the letter (copy shared online), Advocate Alakh has pointed out the increasing number of COVID!9 cases. He has also pointed out that many of the aspirants who have applied for the UPSC Prelims examination are at present working as frontline COVID warriors. Adding to the situation, the floods in many parts of the country has also made the situation grim and worthy of thought. 
He also brings to light the plight many would face due to non-availability of safe accommodations/ hostels in the present situation. Check out the letter below.
‘Considering that a large number of Civil Services aspirants are likely to appear in the said exam,, there is a strong likelihood of alarming spurt of COVID19 cases pursuant to such large scale gatherings at Civil Services Exam centres in the month of October, 2020’, he adds. 
Adv. Alakh, as a representative of the various UPSC Civil Services aspirants, hence has requested for the examinations to be postponed. The letter dated August 20, 2020 is addressed to Chairman, UPSC.
Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava is a Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India. He is also representing students in the UGC Case in the Supreme Court and was the petitioner for postponement of NEET, JEE Main 2020 examinations. He continues to rally for the students asking for relief.He recently wrote a letter to PMO, requesting for the JEE, NEET 2020 exams to be postponed.
