The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2021 at its official website, upsc.gov.in. The notification was scheduled to be released in February, however, it was delayed and is released on March 4. The application process has begun and candidates and will conclude on March 24 at 6 pm. Interested candidates need to apply within the given deadline at upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in.

The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 712 which include 22 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category, as per the notification. To be eligible for the job candidates need to clear a preliminary exam followed by mains and then an interview or personality test round.

The online applications can be withdrawn from March 31 to April 6 till 6 PM after which the link will be disabled. The preliminary exam will be held on June 27.

Age: Applicant should be at least 21 years old to be eligible to apply. The upper age is capped at 32 years. Candidates belonging to the reserved category will get relaxation as per the govt norms.

Education: Applicants must hold an undergraduate level degree from a recognised university or institution.

Number of attempts: Every candidate appearing at the examination who is otherwise eligible will be permitted six attempts at the CSE. However, relaxation in the number of attempts will be available to the SC/ST/OBC and PwBD category candidates.

UPSC CSE 2021: Application fee

Candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 100. Females and candidates belonging to SC, ST category, and persons with disabilities are exempted from paying the fee.
